Teenagers record moment they found body in a suitcase on TikTok

A TikTok user has shared the moment he and his friends found a dead body inside a suitcase washed up on a beach in Seattle.

In the video, captioned ‘something traumatic happened that changed my life check’, a group of teenagers spot the suitcase lying on rocks close to the water and decide to go and inspect it. They then open it up to see that it is filled with a bulging black bin bag.

User Ughhenry explained that as soon as the bag was opened the smell was ‘overwhelming’, causing them to decide to call the police. He told viewers that they became a ‘little scared and nervous’ while filing the report.

Officers then confirmed on Saturday they had found several bags containing human remains by Alki Avenue Southwest, in West Seattle.

They said they received a phone call alerting them to one suspicious bag on the rocks on Friday, but did not say who contacted them. Another bag was then found in the water.

An investigation has since been launched, and detectives are working with the King Country Medical Examiner’s Office. No further information has been released.

The teens said they found the suitcase after being sent to the spot by Randonautica, an app which generates random coordinates for users to follow based on their intentions.

Responding to comments, Ughhenry wrote that he ‘broke down’ the moment he got home after finding the suitcase.

He added that his laughter in the video was his way of ‘trying to get through the situation’ and said he had since been unable to sleep.

The video has already been viewed more than 15,900,000 times on TikTok and has 3,400,000 likes from other users.
